Dear Garden Friends,

Welcome to the beautiful new website for our Mildred E. Mathias Botanical Garden—UCLA’s 7.5 acres of lush biodiversity with more than 3,000 plant species. Please explore the many resources available on this site, including information about our volunteer docent program, self-guided tours and ongoing scientific research projects within the garden.

In case you hadn’t heard, we have launched an exciting revitalization project to improve and beautify our landscapes and hardscapes. We recently opened the newly built La Kretz Garden Pavilion, an indoor-outdoor classroom that also serves as an event space and meeting point for tours. Made possible by the generosity of major donor Morton La Kretz, this is the first of many opportunities for our community to support the garden’s future.
