Land dedicated to Native Americans at UCLA starts to bear fruit
Garden Director Victoria Sork and Manager of Outreach and Education Chantal Ochoa-Clark met with Adolfo Guzman-Lopez of LAist to discuss the Tongva Basket Weaving Garden, planted by local members of the Gabrielino-Tongva tribe. Sork stated the Basket Weaving Garden is important in not only “mak[ing] everyone feel welcome, but [also] mak[ing] sure the Native people understand that … this is part of their history and future.”
