Congrats to the California Chapter Recipients of 2026 Audubon in Action and Collaborative Grants
The Bruin Birding Club is dedicated to making birding accessible both on campus and within the wider community. In collaboration with the UCLA Mathias Botanical Garden, the club aims to enhance the Garden’s free K–12 education programs by acquiring approximately 20 pairs of binoculars. These tools will empower thousands of students each year to engage in hands-on learning, many of whom will experience birding—and the use of scientific field tools—for the very first time.
To support this transformative effort, the Bruin Birding Club was awarded an Audubon in Action Grant from the National Audubon Society. This grant program supports local chapters that advance Audubon’s Flight Plan vision, fostering conservation and community engagement. With this funding, the club is committed to Community Building by expanding youth education and introducing birding to a broader, more diverse audience.
