Botanical Garden Tours
Explore a living museum that is home to unique collections of plants from around the world! Learn about the diverse plants and animals that live in this urban oasis, as well as its history and plans for the future. Tours last approximately one hour.
A free drop-in tour is offered the first Saturday of every month at 1pm. It meets in the Nest outdoor amphitheater.
The Garden also offers free private tours to 1st-12th grade students, office retreats, summer camps, church groups, retirement communities, scouts, and any other group of 10-50 people.
Request a Tour
Please allow at least two weeks notice for scheduling a tour. Tours of more than 30 people may require additional time to coordinate. The largest group we can accommodate for a tour on a given day is approximately 50 people. For groups with children or students, we ask that you have a chaperone to student ratio of at least 1 to 10. In the event of rain the tour will be canceled and may be rescheduled. Reserve a free tour here.
Location / Parking
Tours meet at the La Kretz Garden Pavilion Courtyard (707 Tiverton Ave. Los Angeles California, 90095). There are restrooms located here.
Visitors can park in UCLA parking lot 2 (payment required) near the Westholme Avenue entrance to campus, or at metered parking spots in Westwood. Metered street parking can also be found on Manning Ave, which can be accessed from Charles E. Young Drive or Hilgard Avenue.
Busses can drop off students in a bus loading zone in front of the Botany Building located at: 618 Charles E Young Drive South, Los Angeles, CA 90095. Bus parking is available at the “bus turn-around” north of Lot 4 at Westwood Blvd. and Sunset Blvd. Drivers must stay with their bus. This is on a first come/first served basis. Buses may proceed to the parking area after the passengers have disembarked at the Garden.
