SUMMARY:Exploring Justice Along the Food Chain: A Vegetable Tamale Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Chema Hernández Gil and Nassim Nobari\, co-founders of Seed the Commons\, will demonstrate how to make tamales the traditional way\, with plant-based ingredients. While cooking\, they will speak of the social justice issues that affect people along the food chain\, anchoring the discussion in the different components of the tamales. This event is free\, but space is limited–RSVP to reserve a space. \n  \nSeed the Commons\nSeed the Commons is a grassroots organization that works to defend our food systems from corporate monopoly and help create alternatives that are just\, sustainable and independent of animal exploitation. \nThis event is co-sponsored by:\nUCLA Healthy Campus Initiative + EatWell \nUCLA Food Studies \nUCLA Center for Mexican Studies \nUCLA Department of World Arts and Cultures/Dance \nUCLA Mildred E.
