For this mangrove swamp of La Paz, Baja California, Mexico, a sharp definition of back mangal is observed where the evergreen small trees contact the saline mud flat colonized by Monanthochloe littoralis and Allenrolfea occidentalis. Tree species of the back mangal are Laguncularia racemosa, Conocarpus erecta, and Avicennia germinans.
