The inflorescence of ground-cone, Boschniakia, is found beneath host shrubs on which it is a root parasite. Host plants are members of the Ericaceae, including manzanita (Arctostaphylos). These photographs show the paler colored flowers of Boschniakia hookeri, which grows generally on Gaultheria shallon of northern California and the Pacific Northwest.
