Species in the genus Cissampelos (Family Menispermaceae) are twiners. This vine from Central America is C. tropaeolifolia (Family Menispermaceae), which has alternate, broadly ovate, peltate leaves and hairy stems. Most species of the Menispermaceae are woody lianas, but species of Cissampelos tend to be herbaceous vines.
