Searcher shoot of Amphilophium, a neotropical bignon Here is a searcher shoot of Amphilophium paniculatum (Family Bignoniaceae), growing into full sunlight. This plant has opposite leaf arrangement, and each leaf has three leaflet, of which the terminal one may develop as a tendril. Stem internodes are very long, permitting this shoot to grow long distances while producing very few leaves.
