A bog in southern Chile inhabited by a sedge Located near Puyehue National Park in southern Chile are Nothofagus forests, in a region that receives over five meters of annual precipitation, including rain and snow. At 1600 meters in elevation is this pool, occurring within an acidic sphagnum bog. Growing in this pool is a healthy population of the sedge, apparently a species of Eleocharis (Family Cyperaceae).
