Plants grow along the banks and flood plains of the rivers of the world. Here is a view of the Cass River in eastern Michigan, along which are thriving willow trees (Salix) and many common and extremely widely distributed species of aquatic species, especially grasses and sedges, but also including lizard's-tail (Saururus cernuus, Family Saururaceae).
