Young plants have begun to sprout on the stolons of yerba mansa, Anemopsis californica (Family Saururaceae), an aquatic plant of the southwestern United States and adjacent Mexico. These plants likely will form their own adventitious root systems and become independent of the mother plant. This plant was photographed along Highway 395 in Owens Valley, California.
