Young tendrils of Bauhinia yunnanensis (Family Caesalpiniaceae) arise from rapidly growing shoot tips. Each leaf, which is subtended by a pair of leafy stipules, is fold in half (conduplicate) as it develops, so that you can only see the reddish bottom side of each leaf.
