STIPULAR SPINE

Stipular spine: a spine is a sharp, modified stipule or stipel.

Examples:

  1. Flowering quince, Chaenomeles
  2. A climbing araliad, Eleutherococcus trifoliatus
  3. Legumes with solid stipular spines: example 1, Erythrina, another example
  4. Stipular spines on stem succulent euphorbs; another example and a view with leaves present
  5. A bullthorn acacia; another Mexican bullthorn acacia
