STEM EMERGENCE

Stem emergence: a sharp projection is from stem axes, often associated with climbing or scambling habit.

Examples:

  1. Grasping, backward-pointing stem emergences of a rose, Rosa; another rose
  2. Stem and leaf emergences on the beach rose, Rosa rugosa
  3. The tropical legume Caesalpinia bonduc
  4. Backward-pointing stem emergences of Lantana camara
