Many species and cultivars of Citrus may produce different types of fruits in alternate years. On the left is a sheepnose grapefruit, and to the right is the normal or more acceptable form. This condition is particularly common in desert orchards and results, it is suspected, when the plants alternate between heavy crop and light crop.
