The Breeding Hummingbird Species in the Continental United States

These are the species of hummingbirds that breed in the continental United States. No hummingbirds occur on the Hawaiian Islands. Two species are commonly seen at UCLA and in the botanical garden (**), and two other species are occasionally seen here as well (*).
