After many years of excellent service--not to mention the excitement of transporting thousands of botanical wonders through MEMBG--our two electric carts had to be put out to pasture this winter. Taylor-Dunn was very cooperative in helping us custom-design a newer, safer model to fit our needs, and in offering to provide two vehicles at a total cost of $12,000. The new green carts will have four wheels, rather than the more tipsy three-wheel construction, and twice the hauling capacity.
Obviously, this purchase has placed a strain on our small budget at MEMBG, and we are searching for help in restoring funds for general operations. Donations of any size will be welcomed. Rather than calling our new carts "#1" and "#2," we are hoping to be able to name the electric workhorses after two generous contributors. Imagine the thrill of seeing "Tom," "Dick," "Harry--or "Harriet"--whizzing up the new wheelchair path!
