On Saturday, September 19, the MEMBG staff hosted a barbecue on The Patio to thank all of our volunteers, who are now a crucial contingent in keeping our garden in shape.
About thirty volunteer gardeners gathered first at The Nest to hear some words of praise and encouragement from Garden Manager Rand Plewak and staffer Liz Schwartz, who also solicited input about how we can improve the volunteer program. Then Director Gibson led the group on an educational tour through the garden while Rand donned his chef's hat and prepared the meal for our guests. Everyone enjoyed the food and fellowship. Now we are planning to hold this event on a regular basis, probably during spring and fall.
