Professors Arthur Gibson and Melissa Savage (Geography) recently received a grant of $8,250 from UCLA's Office of Instructional Development (OID) and Division of Life Sciences to develop an educational Web site for the botanical garden. Specifically, funding has been allocated to set up a dedicated Web station and then install educational materials that will support undergraduate teaching in biology and geography, including such topics as plant structure and world vegetation. Thanks to OID's Technology Assistance Program, we are also developing a new home page, making all files on the Web site easily accessible to the general public. If any of our readers has computer or Web site development skills and is interested in volunteering time to help Professor Gibson install text and illustrations into the database, we would welcome your help.
