With the kindly and able assistance of Maximilian Sandor, a friend of MEMBG, we now have a web site on the Internet. Be sure to bookmark the address, and watch as we gradually transform our site into an encyclopedia describing plant structure and how plant designs relate to where species occur in nature. Another ambition is to establish a virtual tour that would allow a person anywhere on earth to take a walk through our garden to learn about the plants by reading written descriptions and viewing colored photographs. Eventually, our "cyber-visitors" will be able to consult a list of outdoor specimens and locate them on the map. We also want to include a "flowering calendar" that friends can consult when planning a visit to the garden, to determine which plants may be in flower. Students in UCLA classes and our docent training program also be able to consult an illustrated, college-level textbook describing the plants in our collection. Of course, all of these materials will be available to anyone visiting our site, so we expect it to be heavily used by biology students everywhere.
